Explore Talent is designed to enhance the Sarnia-Lambton economy by supporting employers in recruiting skilled talent for local employment opportunities and actively promoting employment in the region.
The portal allows job seekers to create profiles that help them stand out. Employers can create profiles and search for job seekers who are actively seeking employment in their industry. This portal is a win-win situation for both employers and job seekers, as employers can use video resumes to better understand candidates, and job seekers can present themselves effectively and creatively within 60 seconds.
The Explore Talent portal was originally developed with support from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development, and is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. With the original project concluding in 2023, the portal has since been adapted to be inclusive of all talent that may be applicable to employers in the Sarnia-Lambton area.
HOW IT WORKS
Explore Talent is designed to streamline the job search and recruitment process for both job seekers and employers in the Sarnia-Lambton region. Here’s how it works:
- Create a Profile: Job seekers and employers start by creating detailed profiles on the portal. Job seekers can highlight their skills, experience, and career goals, while employers can showcase their company and list job openings.
- Upload Video Resumes: Job seekers have the option to upload video resumes, allowing them to present their skills and personality in a unique and engaging way. This helps them stand out to potential employers
- Search and Connect: Employers can use the portal’s search functionality to find candidates that match their specific criteria. They can view profiles and video resumes to get a better understanding of each candidate’s qualifications.
- Apply and Recruit: Job seekers can apply for job openings directly through the portal. Employers can reach out to candidates they are interested in and schedule interviews.
- Get 24/7 Access: The portal is accessible at any time, providing flexibility for both job seekers and employers to connect and engage at their convenience.
